The Anderson Ferry

For those staying near the airport (CVG), a faster route is available by taking the Anderson Ferry, which provides the only auto crossing between I-71/75 Brent Spence Bridge and the I-275 Caroll C. Cropper Bridge. The Anderson ferry operates between Anderson Ferry Road in Cincinnati, OH, and KY 8 in Constance, Northern Kentucky.  It is one of just four known ferries left in operation in KY.  It is located about 6 miles downriver from downtown Cincinnati, or 3 miles north of CVG/Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport.  The ferry has been in continuous operation since 1817.  The side-wheel ferry "Boone No. 7" (#0678) has been in operation since 1935.  This former steam ferry was converted to diesel in 1947.  The three ferries in operation today are all diesel-powered.

Tolls as of Jan. 2006 are US$3.25 per car (one-way); $0.50-$1 per bike; $0.25 per pedestrian.
